Olivia Sophia Trimboli -City to Bay

Story

Thanks for visiting Olivia's city to bay page.

Olivia at nearly one whole year old continues to amaze us in everything she does! She was born prematurely at 36 weeks, at only one week old was having blue-grey 'dusky spells' that rapidly became more frequent after watching our new born stop breathing more times then we can even remember we had never felt such complete utter helplessness and devastation. A retrieval team quickly picked her up and took her to the WCH . After the longest 48 hrs of our lives, cranial ultrasounds, Lumbar puncture, CT scan,  Angiogram and a MRI Drs had diagnosed her with a 2 cm brain lesion in the right temperol lobe.

Due to a bleed from the lesion it was discovered that these were seizures she was having which are now under control thanks to medication daily. She was diagnosed with an AVM or a cavernous malformation, (a vascular abnormalty of the central nervous system it is a cluster of abnormal blood vessels) that could possibly bleed at anytime. Her options at this stage are brain surgery or no surgery.

Olivia will need continual monitoring with MRI scans and medication for the rest of her life that she currently is having every 3 months or surgery which both do not come with out risks of brain damage.

We feel so blessed to have Olivia in our lives and continue to cherish every single moment that we spend with her! We can not speak highly enough of her Neurosurgeon Dr Amal Abou-Hamden at the WCH!

It’s very uncommon these days not to know someone, be it a friend or family member that has been touched by a neurosurgical condition.

Help me turn my idea into something much more and help raise money for life saving Paediatric neurosurgical research.

Please support Olivia, her family and friends in the city to bay and help make her future a poeitive one.  ALL donations go directly to the Paediatric NRF and they are Tax Deductible, so click on DONATE NOW!

Thank you for your support and together we are funding the search for cures, improving treatments and saving lives.smiley
